Tips on Teaching Your Children Reverence

DO show them by example.

DON'T yell for them to "Be quiet so we can have family prayer!"

DO let them see you having personal prayer and/or scripture study.

DON'T snap at them when they climb on you while you are having said scripture study.

DO play hymns or Primary cd's throughout the house to avoid the urge to lock them in a closet. It's hard to yell when they are singing "I'm trying to be like Jesus"!

DON'T criticize the content of their prayers, even if they are only thanking Heavenly Father for the food.

DO make an attempt to speak to them in a loving tone of voice, it really stinks to hear the snotty tones parrotted back at you!

DON'T let them see the murderous look in your eye when they start screaming in sacrament meeting )because Cate took their crayon), while the sacrament is being passed and they are the only kids under the age of 10 present.

And finally...

DO hug them tightly at the end of each day and tell them how much you love them......over and over until you believe it, if need be.

I just blog-hopped from bonna's and found yours.....I love it, by the way. We met at the Women's Retreat, and I knew your husband back when we were young and childless. :) I very much related to your post - hope you don't mind my visiting.
