brotherly love

I love how much Patrick loves Cate. It makes my heart melt when I see him being gentle with her or trying to help her with something. One day I was in the kitchen doing dishes and cooking dinner and spyed Patrick pushing Cate on our tire swing in our backyard. It was so sweet! he knew right away not to push her too hard so she wouldn't fall off. Now everytime we go outside to get in the car she makes a beeline for the swing wanting a ride.

Birthday party pics

Cake!

Okay, here are the fabulous cakes I've been doing lately.

This was Libby's birthday cake. She's really into Pirates of the Caribbean.

I can't get the picture to turn, sorry. Patrick is in love with Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.

Beth wanted the princess cake for the third year in a row......I'm so sick of making this cake.

I will post pictures of the big sheet cake for the school celebration after it hapens.

Ice Cream

I found this link on Jami's blog and I'm kinda embarassed that I'm something we don't even beleive in consuming but.....

PMS and chocolate cake

Planning a birthday party for twins, pms, and a broken chocolate cake are a terrible combination. The twins are five today (I've been a mom for five years?!) and their party is at the bowling alley. Last Saturday was my SIL's bithday for which I made the cake. I'm also making a sheet cake for the twins' end of year classroom celebration. That's where the chocolate cake comes in.

I've never done a sheet cake before and have no clue how to turn it out to cool. My first experimentation led to one corner not making it onto the rack and when I tried to move it the whole thing cracked down the middle, irreparable. Alas, I have had it sitting in my kitchen (unfrosted though) and have been stress eating it all day long. Did I mention the PMS?!!!

Worlds of Fun

Last week I got to spend some quality time with Beth and Patrick. Their school had an end of the year celebration at Valley Worlds of Fun (which is kind of like a glorified Chuck E Cheese without Chuck. We had such a good time! A fabulous friend of mine watched Thomas and Cate for me. Thanks again Tash!

Skee ball was not a big hit....they kept throwing the balls at the glass, not getting the technique quite yet.

Air hockey was a hit though

Beth was really good at this mini-basketball game. I sense a future HS b-ball star....

On the teacups with Beth's "best friend ever", Alexis.
