Vaccines

I got this link sent to me by my dad. I had no idea these tissues were used to create vaccines. I'm quite shocked and outraged. I hope each of you moms do your own research and find out exactly what vaccines your kids are receiving.

Hi Megan. This is the first time I've seen your blog and it's fabulous. You are a great writer and I love how you keep it real. It's so fun to read. I will check out that vaccine link. Thanks!

Although the combo vaccine Pentacel does use a strain of aborted fetus cells, there are fortunately many alternatives being developed by companies like GlaxoSmithKline that use other methods. Also, although still somewhat disturbing, you may wanna do more research to see whether the fetuses that are used for the vaccines ARE voluntarily aborted b/c the medical field uses the term "aborted fetus" to describe a miscarried baby, and if that is the case, that's a little more ethical if a mother donated a miscarried fetus to the cause of science. Still disturbing though!

Oh, the vaccines issue . . . I have a close friend whose son is autistic, caused by mercury in his toddler MMR boosters. She got me really thinking about the tendency in the U.S. to overvaccinate. I'm all for eliminating polio and measles and mumps, but I think it's important to ask doctors careful questions and get reasons for the vaccination schedule.

And assuming I ever have kids, they're not getting chicken pox vaccines- that disease isn't life threatening, and the risk of shingles from the vaccine isn't worth it to me.
